FILM LAW IN LATIN AMERICA

Since the 1990s, cinema laws have been created in Latin America. These laws are in alignment with international legislation and international trade agreements affecting cultural production. A film producer should check the pros and cons of moving a production to a different country.
The following laws promote the production and international co-production of films and television programs that can be distributed domestically, regionally and globally.

Colombia grants a 40% rebate on production expenditures and a 20% rebate on accommodations, food and transportation costs for productions that spend at least $500,000 in the country
COSTA RICA

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The Dominican government has approved a 25% tax credit on qualifying film productions in the country

MÉXICO
Audiovisual Federal Law
Mexico offers a cash rebate worth 7.5% of expenses plus reimbursement of value added tax that international producers have paid.
PANAMÁ
Film Law Nº 16 of April 27, 2012
Panama provides a 15% cash rebate on all local expenditures.
