El pasado 27 de junio, asistí a la exhición del documental Merchants of Doubt, basado en el libro de los científicos Naomi Oreskes y Erik M. Conway. La belleza de este documental, filmado en 2014 , es que muestra una anlogía en cómo los magos utilizan tácticas para engañar a la audiencia al presentar sus trucos. Esta estrategia fue utilizada por las compañías tabacaleras para dilatar la regulaciones que controlaron los efectos tóxicos de fumar cigarrillos. En la actualidad, los fabricantes de químicos tóxicos y empresas farmacéuticas están contratando a supuestos expertos para distraer a los consumidores a fin de dilatar las regulaciones para las emisiones de carbono.
